Some deviations!

There is fighting among the nations
There's plenty of precipitations
I've eaten a few crustaceans
Which upset my aberrations.

Was planning the next vacations
which gave me palpatations
and triggered complications
with the ultimate destinations.

There were fetid infestations
which caused some irritations
that led to vaccinations
and some painful tribulations.

I lost my concentrations
when observing some relations
and got my correlations
stuck up my permutations!

No need for perturbations
I've taken my medications
It's Disney's darned Dalmatians
that's caused my ruminations!

Yep! I watched Disney's 101 Dalmatians!
I didn't know there were that many spots dogs in the whole wide world!!

There are quite a few of my blogosphere pals who have been very sick and hurt and suffering lots over the holidays. I just want to particularly mention, Flynn and Cody and Donkey Joe (Marg's Animals). The fundraiser for Joe's vet bills is still going. You can go here if you would like to help :) Thank you!

Please send some purrs and some prayers that they will all be better soon.

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone! We have received so many cards both by snail mail and email that we thought we should show as many as we can on here. We've also received animated cards and smilebox greetings which we can't show here :(.

There are two slide shows altogether. The first one we showed about a couple of weeks ago and you can view it again here

Here is the second compilation, with suitable seasonal accompaniment :)

Here are just some of the cards that came by snail mail

Thank you so much! To say we're chuffed is putting it mildly!
Some of these came from far off places, like America, Canada, Switzerland and even darkest Devon!

I, that is me, Austin has also received something rather personal!!

"Austin, those are some furs of Cathy Keisha that she sent with her card"

"Austin, you old romantic you"

The Staff, Tigger and I wish you all a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

PeeEss I have been very slack in visiting and commenting in the last week, but I will try and catch up once I've given The Staff her final written warning :-)

The Trout Pout Selfie fail!

with apologies to Da Tabbies O Trout Towne

Some conventions one tries not to flout.
Like in selfies, one does the trout pout.
So I struck up a pose,
And wrinkled my nose.
But the trout pout was hard to put out!

Ladycats are allowed to go all fainty now!

Nellie's Dream!

My very good friend Nellie who is (not really) The Cat from Hell had a dream.
And this was her dream!

Hehehe! Cool, eh!
Thank you Nellie :)
Your dream might come true. However ...
....at the moment Santa's stuck at checkout (something about his credit limit??)
but we'll be there soon!

We would also like to thank the gazillions of you in the Cat Blogosphere who are showering yours truly (and each other) with electronic Christmas cards. Because there are already so many, we have struggled for hours quickly put together a slideshow with appropriate music for you to sit back and enjoy!

We are also receiving animated cards and snail mail cards and all kinds of good tidings of great joy from all over the world. There will be a showcase at some juncture of those as well, probably nearer the 25th! Thank you all very much. It's great to be a part of this fine community :)

A paws pause!

White socks on the end of my paws.
Disguise my needle sharp claws.
They are nearly all hid,
Except the one I call Sid,
And he is poised ready, just 'cause ...

Yesterday I forgot to display my Christmas e-card! Well, you know who actually forgot! Yep! The hairless biped! I am convinced that having fur automatically increases one's IQ by 100%. I think it's probably too late, though! Dilapidation and decay have taken hold! No fur transplant is going to help now! Anyway, here is my card. Please feel free to take it, along with all our good wishes for Christmas and the New Year :-)

Gorge us?

This is my knock 'em dead If I Sit Here Looking Gorgeous For Long Enough She Might Give Me Some Chicken pose. Do you think it worked?

Well, as a matter of fact, it did! But the scenes that followed were rather unseemly and disgusting so there are no pictures to prove it!

We have already been receiving wonderful Christmas cards both by email and snail mail and we would like to thank everyone for such wonderful images, cards and messages. Closer to the big day we will do a slide show and have a display!

Don't forget that Katzy is offering 20% discount on all items in her Etsy shop up to and including December 25th. You just use the coupon CATMAS20 at the checkout.

The FURocious Purr Selfie!

Hi Everybuddy! This is my furry first attempt at a purr selfie. What has been lost in picture definition is made up for in purr sound quality!! You will, of course, understand that picture quality is not paramount in an audio clip, but I have my standards! I need longer paws.

You can watch listen on YouTube here

I hope you are all slightly hugely impressed at my multitasking capabilities!

Miss Nylablue and the Calendar Boy!

Our friend Miss Nylablue and her mom Miss Sherri Ellen need lots of love and support at this time. She has become such a special pal and because she is embarking on her farewell journey very soon, I twiddled the knobs on the space/time continuum thingy and teleported myself over to see her and administer a snuggle or two.

Comforting snuggles
Is always good for friendship.
Leads to restful nap!

Today I also have the honour to be the Cat Blogosphere calendar pin-up! I thought I would show my best hunting pose! Check out those glinty eyes! Talk about focus, I am practically catatonic!

We do have the sads today, as our sweet blogging friend Miss Nylablue, after fighting illness so hard for so long, will be leaving us very very soon .... too soon!

Please remember her and her mum, Sherri Ellen as they spend their last couple of days together and if you can, go and leave a comforting word on their blog. Thank you so much. x

Caturday Art

Here I am thinking deep thoughts and surveying my catdom.

The picture was done on the piZap app using one of the elebenty gazillion filter effects. The Staff has no idea which one, because by the time she settled on one, she'd forgotten what she was supposed to be doing anyway!! However, it looks very colourful, like the sun is reflecting through a prism. Of course, it doesn't do anything to enhance my already purrfect tuxie bod! Just kidding ;)

We are joining the fun Caturday Art blog hop today hosted by Athena and Marie. Please click on the badge to check out the other blogs participating.

Don't forget that Katzy is offering 20% discount at her Etsy shop right through until December 25th. Just use the coupon code CATMAS20 at the checkout.

A poem of apology .... sort of!

I know that I've not been around.
It might appear I've gone to ground.
I blame the peep, she is no good,
Not even there to give me food! (HUH?)
What can I do to rectify
The situation .. my oh my?

To me the problem's very clear,
Her heart's not in it now, I fear!
We need to talk, there is no doubt,
And one of us will get a clout!
It won't be me, I know for sure,
As I’m the one with sharpened claw!

The moral of this story is ..
Don't play around with Austin's biz.
Keep blogging on, no matter what,
Pretend you are a polyglot.
Together we will conquer this
If no one tries to take the ...... mickey!

The End

Remember, Remember ....

"Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot..."

Way, way back in 1605, on the 5th November, this geezer Guy Fawkes and some mates were caught in the cellars of the Houses of Parliament in London with several dozen barrels of gunpowder. It seems they were rather peeved because the King, James 1st, was Protestant when they wanted a Catholic king. They thought they would blow up parliament to make their point. Do you know? Things haven't really changed that much! People are still trying to kill each other all over the place :(

Guy Fawkes was subsequently tried as a traitor with his co-conspirators for plotting against the government. He was tried in London by a Judge Popham. He was sentenced to death and the form of the execution was one of the most horrendous ever practised (hung, drawn and quartered) which reflected the serious nature of the crime of treason.

What really, really gets my goat here is that ever since then, on and around 5th November, people have bonfires and let off really really noisy fireworks at all hours of the night. Some of them even burn effigies of Guy Fawkes, though that was more when The Staff was a little girl, in, like, 1606!

Between you and me, I spend an awful lot of time UTB this time of year!
