Ok, moving on to other business. It has come to our attention that it is coming up to the 2012 BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Social Media Pet Blogging Awards. 

If you click on the above link it will tell you all about it. Basically there are twelve categories in which blogs can be nominated. There are no limits to how many each person can nominate and they can even nominate themselves! Ahem! Not that we would … hint hint …. nominate ourselves in the "best humor blog” category, not the least because somebody can’t spell humour!!! Sheesh!

We (or rather Austin) has been tagged by the legend that is Cathy Keisha - The World’s most Stunning Cat - with the ABC award. Apparently it stands for Awesome Blog Content. What an hono(u)r! Or What? An Hono(u)r? Depending on your point of view.

This means that, much as I disapprove, Austin gets to do a blog post. In it he will choose a word that describes him using every letter of the alphabet. First, though, he has to learn the alphabet. This could take a while as not only does he meow solely in pidgin Welsh, he can’t read, in any language! It’s a terrible handicap for a wannabe suave-cat-around-town, but he could just need glasses. However, with a following wind and some help from the dictionary he will give it a go. Trouble is, I can’t get by “♩ ♫ A you’re adorable, B you’re so beautiful, C you’re a cutie …. ♪ ♫ ♬” …. No argument from Austin there! *sigh*

Anyway, after much discussion, debate and the odd intervention, we eventually came up with the following: (I make the odd comment :)

Anthropomorphic. .. Austin says he hopes I will one day understand this concept

Dope …. no, he doesn’t do it, he IS it according to the Urban dictionary! (I think you should add the indefinite article here, but hey!)

Now it seems that we should tag some other cool cats to do this, but I do believe that most have already done it (trust us to be late to the party!). Is there anyone out there who would like to do it? Please speak now or forever hold your piece (of cod).

A Real Grousecat

I don’t know! Austin's not been the same since Real Housecats. In fact he’s become a Real Grousecat! Won’t do this. Won’t do that. He just lies around all day while muggins here runs around catering to his every whim. I have to cook everything "cord on bloo". Caviar on kibble for breakfast and home cured salmon for lunch (didn’t know it was sick?) and sea bass with saffron mussel drizzle for dinner. 

I do nothing except slave over a hot tin opener all day. As if I haven’t more important things to do! At this point Austin lifts a languid paw and brings to a halt my incessant whining:

Well you haven’t. And shut up, you sound like a dog!!! 

Huh! OK so how about a nice chicken breast stuffed with prunes and figs for your supper? Te he he!

Happy Birthday, Marg

It is Marg’s birthday today and I just want to add my good wishes to the hundreds of others out there in the blogosphere who love her and hold her in such high regard :-)

A special lady who never turns away any animal ~ the cats, the dogs, the goats, the donkeys,

raise funds in support of others in need, never asking for anything in return.

If Occam met Gordias

If Alexander the Great had used Occam's razor to cut the Gordian knot, would it have been a Pyrrhic victory? Or perhaps he did manage to untie it after all. We know Alexander was a canny lad. But if King Pyrrhus of Epirus was ruined by his victory against the Romans, why was he not more concerned about Greeks bearing gifts of razors?

It's a conundrum and also a confused conflation of historical (and possibly mythical) periods! But that's the great thing about history, past events are viewed through the lens of selective subjective opinion.

Austin feels I have been a bit esoteric, but I put it down to being over medicated!
