It's THAT time again! - the Director's Cut!

Yes, with no warning whatsoever, I suffered THE SUPREME INDIGNITY and was stuffed into the box and taken to the evil V-E-T yesterday afternoon. This happened without my consent or even prior knowledge! I believe this contravenes some law or other and is probably a job for NUCAT!

Comrades, you all heard what I said while I was incarcerated locked up kept safe in the clink carrier. We must mobilise and come together as one kitty to stop this terrible occurrence from ... errr .... reoccurring!  This is what happens when those pollex-protruding-peeps get bees in their bonnets ... though have to say I've never seen my particular pollex-protruding-peep wear a bonnet at all. Not ever! Therefore I'm not absolutely sure where she keeps her bee? Answers on a postcard!

Ahem! Anyway, the point is, if we have to go to the evil V-E-T (and yes, I know we have to) then the pollex-protruding-peep has to submit a written request in triplicate at least three weeks beforehand so that we can make alternative arrangements be ready. It's a totally reasonable request! What say you?

Other matters pending. The renaming of "treats" as stipulated by the NUCAT Charter, section 34(d), subsection 253(i), para 497, subpara 3428, clause XMXXlV, subclause 2(b). There have been several suggestions and these I put before you:

Nommies
Goodies
Cwumbles
Necessities
Wheat grass
Vitamins

I believe any of those would be better than the current nomenclature. We will put it to the vote amongst members shortly, say in about May 2018.

Thank you for your attention

Note from The Staff. Austin was at the vet having his annual flu shot and check up. Apart from giving a sterling performance of Aida's aria from Verdi, he was so good :) His weight is 5.6kgs which shows he's not wasting away! The only problem is the ongoing stomatitis, which might necessitate another cryosurgery on his mouth in the next few months!  His teeth appear ok though and I shall keep a check on it.

  1. Glad you are A OK Austin. Sure hope you can arrange things so you don't ever have to go back. That is not a fun thing to do. Take care.

  3. Austin we know how you feel - we're sure that the vets' receptionists enjoy taking money for the vets who then stick needles in you and put the thermometer where the sun don't shine which we find makes our eyes water. The only good bit is Mum moaning when she has to empty her purse to pay the bill.

  4. Poor Austin. We have some vets that come to the house, they are a little pricier, but sometimes worth it.

  5. Well, carp, Austin. We can't believe you were ambushed and dragged to the evil vet. We're glad you're okay. And as for the renaming of treats...actually, that's one human word we understand.

  10. This is an outrage the whole snatching against your will and taking you to the torture office. I like all the suggestions for the renaming of treats, specifically "Necessities".

That all being said, I'm glad all is well with you and you have cutest meow and tail.

p.s. Sorry about the above deleted comment. The lady was accidentally on the big guy's account.

  11. We totally agree with the three week notice. Just the other month we were herded uncerimoniously into the PTU and whisked to the v-e-t. I did get the whole family to join in the song of our people both on trip and in the office which was noted by all, two legged and fur!
Ah the mouth issue dear Austin. Purring for you. Mr Buttons needs another dental and may be losing what few toothies he has left
    Purrs in solidarity

  12. PS
That was some fine singing and the tail afterward really let her know who is boss!

  13. I am with you, Comrade Austin. I looked up when you started your tirade, er, speech in rapt attention. We should NOT be pressured against our will at a time known only to the humans. We shall announce a Worldwide Day of Protest against this! I will hereby refer to those little things I get at night as Soul Food. Yours in solidarity, Comrade Keisha

PS: Are we gonna get some kind of neat berets or something like the WLF headwear?

  14. Austin we sing too until we get in the office and then we're very quiet and just hope it all happens quickly and we can go home!

Wilbur listened to your song with great sympathy and interest. We are sorry about the V-E-T visit, but it's over now. We agree with the Island Cats - we respond favorably to the word TREATS. It's short and it's catchy, and it is music to our ears.

  16. I am very quiet in my carrier but my brothers would join you in song. We don't get many treats but we do know that word very well.

  17. I'm glad you had a good vet check up, Austin! Although it did seem to break some rules.

  18. We loved your swinging tail, very nice dance and the song that went with it was beautiful - even Elliot pricked up his ears.
Glad all was well at the vet.

  21. The indignity of being snatched off, unprepared, to the vet!

I think I would vote for the term Vitamins for treats.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It is a huge indignity to be stuffed into the PTU without a word of warning. Your tail shows exactly what you thought of your ordeal, (although I do suspect there may have been birds on the other side of the window.)

  23. OMC, this woke up Merlin. Austin, you have the lungs of an opera singer!

  25. Dude! Your lungs are A.o.k.! No need to have them checked out! :) It looks as though N.U.C.A.T. is seriously on top of things...taking three years to have the Charter rename treats seems perfectly reasonable in terms of a viable time frame...;p

  26. whew, pleased you are well Austin. And I agree we must have ample beforehand knowledge of said vet trip so as to be sure we have our special hidey spots all lined up. And I am really liking the "Nommies" word myself. The Kid Sage prefers to call them simply "slurp"...*rolls eyes*

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh no they didn't! Kitties should not be stuffed into a carrier with no notice! We're glad you voiced your opinion!

  28. Excellent definition as always, and we loved part two of the video with your dancing tail. We totally agree with the three week notice prior to a vet visit. We know our time is coming for our annual in-home roundup. Mau and Misty May have already gotten their notices. Please join us for our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. 29. Austin - Zoey hears your voice and appreciates you meowing up. She had to go to the vet today too and was none to thrilled that I hadn't consented with her...

  30. Austin it sounded more to me like "Madame Butterfly" you were singing which I actually thought you pulled off nicely even though I know it was "Sir Butterfly" vs. Madame. Anyway, well done (well screamed?) even if it still resulted in you having to go to the vet. I do think a three week notice in triplicate is not asking too much. It gives us time to find the perfect hiding spot. We're all with you brother - you are our Supreme Leader and if it's good for you - it's good for us! Power to the Paw!

    Hugs, Sammy

  31. Tee! Hee! Your singing is spectacular!!! Yous gotted the hairy slobbery sister so upset with your songs that she ran around the house and demanded to bes let outside to search for the sad cat!!!! Mes looked at the speaker on the laptop. And Austin, 3 weeks notice is the minimum for notice! And mes asked my Mommy where she kept her bees...And she said "in the Garden"

  32. Austin! You've got a definite future in the music business! Glogirly is giggling because she loves hearing your "voice." ; ) By the looks of your tail, all went well and you are safe at home.

    Thanks for the song, Austin!
