One thing's for sure, there is no doubt,
she often forgets that I am out.
When this happens, I have no choice,
but give her 'the eye' and lift my voice!
Come on old dear and let me in,
it's the only way to stop the din!
Pick yourself from off the floor,
And open up this flippin' door!
First I'll have a bite to eat
And then kip down and get some sleep.
But hark! I hear the dulcet tones
Of that darn tabby, Tigger Jones!
He's on my bed and stretched out nice!
No doubt he dreams of birds and mice.
So there's only one thing that I can do
to show you all what I think of you!
⟺
carbuncle, carb-uncle (noun) - a starchy male relative who's a bit of a drain

Wow Austin, Are you tryin' to win my Human's heart or sumfing? She's an English teacher who appreciates a fine poetic talent. For example, right now her students are studying Hamlet. When they finish, they can study YOUR fine poem!
ReplyDeleteWhat the... I must be darn stupid when I read the definition of Carbuncle.
ReplyDeleteI see an A.A. Milne in the making... I love your poems... if only it were that easy to make one everyday.
Tigger Jones.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Austin for goodness sake do ask your family to get you your own private entrance or a commissionaire - we hate to see you looking so forlorn knocking on the door for admission when a flunky should be waiting to oblige.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Love how the poem finishes. I am surprised however that DR, is suing such a figurative expression. LOL
ReplyDeleteAustin, that poem was fun! I like your word of the day, too..
ReplyDeleteHallooo to you!
Tom, the Roman catyak cat

Hey Austin! Be sure to come by later to read about the Coronation. I know Your People have this down to an art form, but we did our best over here, MOL!
ReplyDeleteAustin going to play the cello after the day you had. Maybe get Mom to install a cat door for you so no more waiting around.
ReplyDeleteMummy never lets us out of the house, she said we are not very street-smart. But whenever we want to go into her room, we just have to Meow loudly and she will let us in.
