When is a Tigger not a Tigger?

Ah Ha! I shall tell you. Come closer!

Here's the fellow we are talking about back in 2008!

For those who don't know, Tigger (as we call him) is our everyday visitor. He doesn't officially have residence here.  As I said Austin first brought him home in early 2008. He was such a little chap, as was Austin, so we thought they were about the same age! We had no idea where he came from! Austin actually brought him into the house and said something like "Hey! This dood needs chow, now. He's, like, starving and everything!"

And here is Tigger today making himself at home still!

EXCEPT IT IS NOT TIGGER!

IT'S SPARKY!

It appears that is his name AND he lives over the hedge at the back of our garden in a house where there are also two dogs!!!!! No wonder he prefers our place and no wonder Austin took pity on him and allowed him to doss down in the summerhouse and munch on the odd bit of stale kibble! He even lets him in the house! For a cat who singularly lacks the milk of kitty kindness when it comes to other cats, I think that is pretty spiffing of him!

As long as he continues to visit here, we will call him Tigger because that's what he's used to after  seven years!

=^,,^=

I know I have not been around the blogosphere much the last week or so, please forgive lack of visits and comments and blog posts. I hope to get my mojo back soon, but also I need to lesson my virtual footprint for a bit. Austin still has a presence on Facebook and he's enjoying Instagram. Please join him if you would like. Just click on the relevant buttons on the side bar at the top of the page :)

  3. WE like the name Tigger better than Sparky. WE will always know him as Tigger. For some reason we don't do Instagram. Just too many things to do.Have a great day;

  4. Sparky sounds more like a dogs name too, no need to be a third dog at the other sea

  5. Tigger/Sparky definitely looks like he knows how to make himself at home!

  6. Tigger suits him much better, and if you have two homes, why not two names.

  7. Heh. I think his identity as Sparky is the false one! He is definitely Tigger.

  9. I'm so happy to read Tigger's story. Austin, you really are a wonderful chap to look out for Tigger. I'm so glad he has a happy home with you guys even if it's a home away from home. I do wonder why he was starving, though, if he had/has this other home. Well, nevertheless, how funny to find this all out seven years later! Mystery solved!

Take good care! I'm glad we're IG friends! :)

  10. Buddy, we have really missed you. As we don't do Instagram and only Facebook if we hijack our dad's account, we will need to be content seeing you when you are able to post. So interesting to find out that Tigger is Sparky. It's amazing that it took seven years to find this out. We've heard about lots of cats who have more than one home and more than one name. It's so funny how Austin brought him home. Our cat MacKenzie brought a possum home once and said about the same thing Austin did. I had a problem convincing him it was not a friend. Sending love to to all. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  11. That is too funny :) I am sure he doesn't care what you call him.

  12. That is hilarious that Tigger is really Sparky! Actually I like both names! I know how you feel about sometimes not being around that much. I have been doing the same on and off. It gets rather tedious sometimes, so I often consciously attempt to blog less and have more of a life :)
    I totally "get it!"

  13. Tigger/Sparky looks like a heck of a nice guy. That's pretty funny that he moves between his place and your place. See you on instagram!

  14. Too funny! If we had to live with dogs we'd move next door, too!

  17. We're not on Instagram, but for us it's totally OK to be offline from time to time : how could you have great stories to post if you don't live in real life ? Purrs

  18. It's so funny that after so long, you've discovered his real name MOL. Either way, I like Tigger! I think it's so cool that he comes to visit and makes himself so comfy even though he doesn't technically live there. I've been enjoying you on Instagram Austin!

  19. Gosh! The true identify of your visitor is discovered! I like "Tigger" more than "Sparky" for a name too and as long as your house is more his home than his ACTUAL home, I say call him what you want! Obviously he's in HEAVEN when he's at your sanctuary. It's nice Austin approves of him and allows him "privileges" there!

    Hugs, Sammy

  20. I see that I am not the only kitty who likes Tigger SO much better than the woofie name of Sparky! That was indeed spiffing of Austin but I would expect that of him. xoxox

  23. What a nice story. He will definitely prefer it with you if his family have 2 dogs. We can never think of him as Sparky after we got to know him as Tigger either.

  26. It's wonderful that Tigger is comfortable and welcome in your home and can escape his dog family.

  27. Fancy that - thank goodness poor Tigger has found your home as a wonderful place to escape the dog.

  28. That's very furriendly of you, Austin, I would have hissed him away, like I do with all intruders. I think Tigger is the right name, when he is with you...*mumbles* I purrsonally would put an "r" in his name...but I think he don't mind whatever you call him, as long as he's with you :)
Good to see you back! Pawkisses for a Hot Summer Day :) <3

  29. I'm glad you cleared this up. I was always a bit confused about Tigger's status. Funny how cats adopt neighbor families - remember how Mr. Puddy adopted his family, when he had a home a few doors away?

  30. Tigger definitely looks like a Tigger to us! We are glad he is welcome in your home -- must be a nice escape from those woofies.

  31. Haha, he seems to be really happy with you.

  32. At long last we know Tigger's story! I can't believe it took me this long to get over here and read this post. Feedly Reader drives me crazy and I didn't see this on FB! I was probably looking at your Instagram... :) I think that is a Tigger Cat and not a Sparky!!! I'd like it better at your house too!

  33. So glad that Tigger has a home nearby! Don't blame him for wanting to escape to yours occasionally if there are two dogs there!

  37. I hope your neighbors are nice people even though they have dogs. Were they surprised their Sparky has an alter ego and an entire second family? Cats are mysterious beings...
    Hope you're feeling better soon!

  42. Tigger aka Sparky looks a lot like our Pippin.

  43. MOL!! We think you should keep calling him Tigger too. And if we were him, we'd be hanging away from the woofies as well.

We're so sorry your mojo is down. We've been away for two weeks and are just catching up. Sending you "get well, Mojo" purrs!

  44. He will always be Tigger to us... Hope you will be feeling better soon. And an Instagram account... you are far more sophisticated than I am! Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey kitties.

  45. Sparky! That name does not suit him but we're happy the mystery is solved. Cats living double lives is more prevalent in the U.K. because of cat flaps. I sometimes wonder if Odin has wandered into a neighbor's catflap (they have 7 cats).

  46. So glad Austin took pity on Sparky!
    Sparky is so wonderful!
