Austin is not exactly filled with the milk of human cat kindness, so when Blackie-the-Stray stuck his head out the summerhouse to enquire about a spot of lunch, he (Austin) had a conniption and morphed into a bawling banshee! I swear it could be heard in Holyhead! I now suspect that détente is not on the cards for the foreseeable, so I will only be able to sneak kibble to Blackie in the summerhouse after dark! I can see fraught times ahead!
⟺
conniption, con-nip-shun - when a cat is deceived into sharing some nip and then is subsequently rejected by the sharee
⟺
Austin, just tell your Mom, that is your territory, so it is only right that you protect it. But the Black kitty does need to eat.
ReplyDeleteLove the definition. Take care.
Oh my Austin, we haven't seen Blackie in months.. make sure your ready for him..MOL Pawty tomorrow, you and Tigger bring the beers..BOL xx00xx
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
Holy crap, Austin! You've sprouted a fir tree on your back side! We are deeply impressed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good guard cat you are Austin!
ReplyDeleteMy mom's dad's cat Gustav have the same problem as you , Austin.
ReplyDeleteJust want to say Your mom is a traitor !!!!
ReplyDeleteOMC ! How she can give your food to Blackie !
Should give to me ... Tee heh
And dude ! Never seen any kitties hiss with only tail... MOL
xoxo
I love Con-nip-shun! Thanks for always being so kind with your comments on my human blog!
ReplyDeleteWow, that got his dander up but good, huh? Goodie for you Austin!
ReplyDeleteKitty
That is some poof tail ya got there Austin!
ReplyDeleteOh, Austin you were so brave against that evil introoder....and to read that YOUR Mommie is going to be sneaking him foods....
ReplyDeleteKisses, Sassy
Austin, we feel the same way when introoders come into our yard. We're sure you showed Blackie who's boss!
ReplyDeleteNice tail Austin! Good job protecting your territory.
ReplyDeleteI bet your Mom broke all previous speed records when she heard those noises!
xxoo
Maggie
Kudos for quick thinking mom. That's an impressive display of bottle brush tail! We have a Blackie interloper too. Is Blackie neutered?
ReplyDeleteoh my CAT! Sounds like you mighta had a conniption of the FIRST order, and we sure HOPE you didn't have one of the SECOND order (she's been sneaking NOMS out there and not NIP, right???)
ReplyDeleteAustin, you would not like it here - there are a lot of neighbor cats wandering around! Luckily, we don't care, even though ONE has been dipping into my nip plant!
ReplyDeleteDoes Austin have a Spitty tail? that's what TW calls it when my tail bristles since Spitty has such a naturally bushy tail. So you're feeding Blackie on the sly. Hmmm!
ReplyDeleteAustin what a tail you got there you showed Blackie that this was your place real well.
ReplyDeleteSheesh! I guess Stampo isn't so bad! Though the Human says Blackie *is* awfully cute....
ReplyDeleteThat betrayal happens here too! It bugs me so when Mommy goes out to feed that awful Stinky right in front of me!
ReplyDeleteAt least you were able to chase Blackie. I can only mew in disgust from the catio.
...Boomer
We get tails like that too when we see a stranger on our fence.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Austin my friend I feel your pain! We have a stray who frequents my front porch looking for a handout (which my Mom of course provides)....she seems to think this is HER territory and the few encounters we've had have been LESS than cordial! I believe in the "live and let live" thing but honestly - it's MY front porch!
ReplyDeleteKitty Hugs, Sammy
Wow the tell all tail! Those face offs are so scary, we've had a few before too. The noise is almost as loud as Cocco's daily squeals but in a terrifying way! Hope everyone got away unscathed.
ReplyDeletePiggy kisses,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Austin, we are experiencing the same high drama in our yard! My porch panther brofur, Oliver, is defending his patch against another male black kitty that's shown up over the last month or so. MomKatt's named him "Poptart" 'cause he looks just like the "Poptart for your soul?" kitty on LOL Cats! (Same eyes & everything!) He's got a collar on - we don't know if he belongs to the neighbors across our street or what but he seems to be either there or our yard. This morning, he caught a mouse & ran across to the neighbor's house with it in his mouth! Very exciting! Oliver's not happy, though. Poptart steals his gooshy fud leavings ...
ReplyDeletePURRS!
Selina
I gotta tell ya, I don't blame Austin one bit! That cat looks soooo much like him, that it reminds me of the battles between Puddy and Smudge!
ReplyDeleteOh no a fight waiting to happen LOL. Delay till tonight so Oscar can come and help you xxx
ReplyDeleteAustin, we agree--with a vote of five bottle brushes and lots of yowls! If our human is to feed anyone extra food, it will be us, and 'nip--we don't get enough as it is.
ReplyDeleteWow, Austin! I really didn't think you had it in you!
ReplyDeleteWay to GO!!!
Poor Blackie...good thing the staff is looking out for him.
; ) Katie
P.S. Glogirly's got a toilet cleaner that looks an awful lot like that tail of yours. ; )
Wowzers! Mes knows just how yous feels Austin! Except the intruder lives in the house with mes! Mes can gets so mad at Kozmo my tail poofs too!
ReplyDeleteMe sends yous comforting purrs!
Kisses
Nellie
Oh Austin -- come on. Chill. Stick your head in a box. That's what makes life worth living. Not this aggro stuff. Can't we all get along?
ReplyDeleteWow, I assume you took this technical jargon from a Law Dictionary. LOL.

Well... you should remember it's cuz he knows what a good gig he's got with you and he doesn't want any interlopers upsetting the apple cart! That's what we cat people call being loved by our cat!!!
ReplyDelete:)
Great word!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha poor Blackie. I can't blame Austin for protecting his territory though. I totally love when cats do the bottle-brush thing! :D
ReplyDeleteUh oh! Introoder alert! Love that tail! Purrs...
ReplyDeleteI don't like intruders in my garden either
ReplyDeleteAustin
ReplyDeletePing does that too. Scream like a banshee! Scares all of us plumb to death.
Great tail (and term, we're going to use that if you don't mind)!
ReplyDeleteI'd spy on Blackie with binoculars to see if he has the family jewels.
ReplyDeleteWe always love a good poofy kitty tail in conjunction with wild banshee screaming. That is how I remember getting Zoey as a tiny kitten and that is how she wakes us up every morning... darling she is! I do agree with Marg, however... sure, Blackie should not be in your yard, but he does deserve some food, so please be so kind as to look the other way now and again..
ReplyDeleteWe have a black and white stray around here too or did before they started the destruction next door.
ReplyDeleteWe were calling it Boots b/c it had white boots on. Haven't seen him or her since they started tearing stuff up!!
Austin, theese banshee stuff has me shivering in my booties! We like your word of the day!
ReplyDeleteUpon further reflection, Austin, the Human feels you should be nicer to your guest. He may have been uninvited, but still--you shouldn't begrudge a boy his lunch. So the Human says you should Chill.
ReplyDeleteMe, I say: Get him outta YOUR yard!!!!
MOL, Austin! Your tail does kind of look like that thing mom keeps by the kitchen sink... ;)
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Carmine, Milita, and Jewel
The bushy tail of conniption :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Austin!
We know Austin is not a happy camper, but we love how his tail looks…it is exactly (though not red) like a bottle brush. When we had two other male cats, Mauricio used to flip out. He was just so jealous. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteWow, Austin, that is an impressive tail; Calle and Sukki have floofy tails all the time, but when Halle floofs her tail, the whole house knows about it=that girl gets loud too!...Sorry for the intruder, but Blackie might end up being a friend if you give him the chance...Our Mommy would feed him too~just sayin...Great word of the day=you are so clever...Happy Hump Day, precious friend...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteMost amazing bottle brush ever!
ReplyDeleteI keep away from my cats when their tail looks like that!
ReplyDeleteSo thats Blackie the intruder eh ? Im sorry his presence is making your tail do all kinds of floofy poofy business (which is very cute mind you!) but I am pleased you mum is giving him some kibble, I bet he appreciates it.
ReplyDeleteWe can't make our tails do that, so we are very envious. See, we don't have guard hairs which are the hair that can make a bottlebrush!
ReplyDelete
