Happy Birthday ML

Ok I have a confession to make. I don’t actually know ML of the Cat Blogosphere!! I know, I know, My head has been in the iCloud too long.  Anyway, just in case there is someone out there who doesn’t know already, ML is celebrating getting older today.

Now Austin and his Real Housecat buddies (see above. Austin is the one in the middle with his tongue hanging out *sigh*) have put together an altogether splendiforious rendition of happy birthday, choreographed, produced and directed by the talented Glogirly. The Present

It all started so well. I went to the pet shop, bought the item and took it home so junior nephew could (very kindly) put it together:

Trouble is, we then had to introduce Austin to his new scratchpost-lounger-bobbledangle thingy. What a palaver! He ….. 

….. first had to read the instructions ….

…..check the construction did not contravene EU regulations ….

…. run some scratch tests ….

…. tidy up residual detritus ….

 ….. before he's ready…..

Birthday Boy!

Yep the boy is 5. To be honest we don’t actually know when he was born, but when we went to collect him from the RSPCA all those years ago, they decided May 1st was as good a date as any! So, like the Queen, he has an official birthday :)

Oh and if you can’t quite see what the pressy is, here is a larger picture of the box it came in:

That sweet kitty sitting on the “climb and hide lookout” is not Austin!! The saga of the present opening and inspection by his lordship is for another day .. after I’ve had a long lie down and a few of my prescription meds. I hope that is ok?

Meanwhile, I think there is a beano over at Domino’s (Cat Wisdom 101) as it is also his birthday today :) Catnip and caviar! What more does a cat need? Except maybe salmon ;)
