Tigger is in the building!
The Staff here. Austin and Tigger have known each other for over five years. In all that time they have scrapped and hunted and played together - albeit sometimes a bit roughly! Tigger would come in mainly because he wanted a bite to eat and possibly a nap in one of Austin's many napping places. Austin would be edgy and anxious the whole time, which is why we didn't encourage Tigger to come inside very much, though it was difficult to stop him as he comes with a built in battering ram. There isn't (as far as I have seen) any mutual grooming or activity associated with felines who are at ease in each other's company.
Until recently that is! The last week or so Tigger has not just come in to see if there is anything to eat. He has come in to play and chill AND AUSTIN HAS BEEN LETTING HIM! In fact Austin seems quite happy about it, even when Tigger is playing with his toys and scratching his scratcher and getting his smell into every nook and cranny. Austin just looks on quite relaxed and (almost) genial!
So after all these years of being mainly outdoor buddies, have they, at last, taken their relationship to the next level?
I am starting to think now that it would be awful if Tigger and his pawrents moved away!!!!!

Whoa!!! Wat a minute! Did you say Tigger has parents?!? Oh dear...

ReplyDeleteLOVED the Tigger activity and you know, I never thought about Tigger moving away, That would be horrid. Tigger and Austin both would suffer. And they would. I hope he doesn't move and I must say I smiled at him with his battering ram making his way into what he obviously considers his home away from home. Austin, you are a good man cat. (and handsome too!)
ReplyDeleteI see you and I both have equally long white whiskers, Austin. xxxooo
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a friend to play with.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a pal.
ReplyDeleteTigger HAS a family?? I thought he was a stray that you fed. I hope Austin isnot sick or just resigned that he no longer is an only cat.

Austin, you and Tigger sound a bit like me and Stevie. Stevie isn't our kitty BUT he thinks he is and if he wasn't so determined to get rid of ME so he could move in, maybe we could be house buddies like you and Tigger have become. Good for you being brave and letting him come in to play....I'm TRYING to do that too but I think so far my friend you're braver than I !!
ReplyDeleteKitty Hugs, Sammy
That's very kind of you, Austin!

Years ago we had our Tiger and Tiger had a friend that we called Friend. He was around for 4 years and the two cats started out just like your two. One day Friend showed up wonded and a mess. I think he had been hit by a car but I was just guessing. I doctored him for weeks and during that time he never left our back patio. From that time on Friend was ours, he never left for the next 11 years.
ReplyDeletePawsome that you and Tigger can play togethjer inside too , Austin :)

ReplyDeleteSheba.
I've grown fond of Tigger and so glad Austin has bonded more deeply with him. Is there no way to follow him home? Attach a note to a collar? Is there any chance Austin has gone to Tigger's home? It's turning curiouser and curiouser.
ReplyDeleteAwww, that is really sweet!...We are glad Austin and Tigger are best of friends and enjoy hanging out together...As always, love the word of the day too=very clever!...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki, Mommy Cat, Daddy Cat
ReplyDeleteAww, how cute!!
ReplyDeleteI just love Tigger so much. He looks so much like my old cat Thomas I always do a double take when I see his pics. Thomas was a sweetie-pie too. <3
That's pretty amazing. Has Tigger left enough scent in your house that he now seems like part of Austin's tribe? Whatever happened, I hope it keeps happening!
