Vet visit - The "Procedure"

I just thought I would give an update on Austin's op which he had this morning. I delivered one very vocal and hungry little tux to the surgery at 9 a.m. On the journey there I heard a complete Handel oratorio, with Austin singing all the parts! The carrier was rocking! (Note to self. Get ear defenders!) I went home and bit my nails until 2 p.m. when I rang and was told that he had come round from the anaesthetic and was fine :)

When I went at 4 p.m. to pick him up I could hear him before I went through the door!!! I think it was something from Iron Maiden this time (he has eclectic tastes!). The nurse told me that he had quite a story to tell her when he came to and still hadn't quite finished thank you, but wasn't he a sweetie! :)

Funnily enough he was quiet all the way home, but I could feel his beady eye boring into my soul. Then once he was in the house he started up again and didn't let up until about half an hour ago. Ok Austin, I've got the message … Give me a break why don't you!!!

(The vet had to cut away quite a bit of gum, but says everything went to plan. He's on antibiotics and eating well. I have to take him back in about ten days for a check up.)

Thanks everyone for your purrs and good thoughts. They are really appreciated and I hope we will be back proper blogging very soon :)

BTW we have been given another star for our Blog of the Year badge from the lovely Cathy Keisha :) Thank you very much indeed. We now have four :)

And who knew he had such a wide range of musical taste?

  2. Maxwell: Austin, dood, I feel your pain. Momma tells me I have Horrid teeth and not to get too attached to them (!!). I lost 12 already :(

So glad you're home safe. paws crossed that this is the last you've seen of the Tooth Monster!

  3. I am glad you came through the operation with your vocal chords intact, Austin! Heal up fast so you can get back to regular kitty business!

  4. Austin, we are so glad that you are home! I'm sure that stuff they use to make you take a nap while they work on you has made you feel very strange. We are sorry you have problems with your teeth. Some kitties are more prone to problems than others.

  5. Oh Austin, you sang beautifully and I can tell your mama loved every verse! I know she recorded it to listen to over and over thru her earphones while you are having a well deserved deep sleep recovering from this visit to the tooth monster. Love and snuggles from one Tuxie to another. xoxoxox

  7. Austin buddy, I'm very glad you got a chance to get some Iron Maiden in there too! Mega purrs are heading your way for your gums, mouth and toofs to heal quickly with ease and for you to feel better ASAP! I hopes that you get Num-Nums soon and don't have to resort to the scissors...

  9. Yo Pal! I think we might need to go have something a little stronger than a beer in a day or two, all right? I'm thinkin' one a them Martoonis the Humans think so highly of. Plus, you get an OLIVE, and I like olives.

The Human says she is very very happy to hear things went well for The Boy! And she is sure Mama is majorly relieved, too XOXOXO

The Human says that because you all live in the UK, well, and because I am the King of California, that we should say congratulations on the Royal Baby-to-Be. We understand that there's a move to make it ok for a girl first-born to be first-in-line, and the Human approves of that. So Pip-Pip or Brilliant or Tally-Ho or whatever the appropriate phrase for Congrats, that's Awesome! might be ;-)

  36. This is a lot to take in. Wow. I'm just glad Austin is fine... I can't believe he went all piggy after the new meds. Fortunately, he seems to be in good shape.

As for the blogging break, I believe I missed it. Heck, I missed a lot of things. I've been seek of the flu for the past four days which has rendered me useless. I hope all is well.

  38. Wishing Austin a speedy recovery!! Glad it went well (other than the loud serenade). We never know just what kind of lungs our kitties have until they have to take a ride in the car, MOL. When I arrive at the vet with kitty in tow, I always tell them that I need a Valium.
