Gratuitous …… Giveaway!

Is that title tautologous? Answers please ….! Gratuitous here does not mean unnecessary, uncalled for or unwarranted, but FREE OF CHARGE!

But first we have gratuitous gorgeousness (me!)

You can see I am keeping a strong hold on my back paw, as earlier I was scaredified by an inappropriate digit being laid on it in a furtive way! Now I have to be alert! In fact I think we all need to be lertful for stray fingers and pokey things! Editor’s note: All I did was touch his beauteous little paw and he went into a frenetic frenzy of freakiness! He now is keeping a firm grip on his paw and it’s within view at all times!

Gratuitous Gifts - We have been the happy recipients of quite a few tangible things of late i.e. things that have arrived by snail mail. We won the Silly Saturday Caption contest over at The Teacher’s Pets and got a whole bunch of lovely goodies :)

Thank you April and the gang for including us in and thinking our caption was silly enough :)

We have also been one of the five lucky winners of the Sparkle Puss children’s book from Cat Wisdom 101

As you can see, I am really into it! This is a beautifully produced book set in Penzance, Cornwall in the UK about a cat called Sparkle (!) who has adventures while trying to save her friend the  chocolate apothecary from losing his business. It has cats, mystery and chocolate. Who can resist? Thank you Layla :)

Gratuitous Giveaway - To celebrate the launch of the super new look blog, we are offering a prize draw, free, gratis and for nothing. The winner of the draw will get a copy of The Chronicles of Zee & Zoey - a Journey of the Extraordinarily Ordinary by Deborah Barnes.

If you haven’t read this yet, read my review here. It is a beautiful book and will enthral and delight if you like cats, good writing and beautiful pictures .. and who doesn’t! All you have to do is leave a comment below saying that you are entering and why you would like it. You will need to make sure that I have contact details for you if you know I don’t already have them. The draw is open to absolutely EVERYBODY wherever you happen to live in the world. The winner will be picked by random.org next Saturday 6th October at midday BST. Good luck :) Zee & Zoey’s website is here.

PS If you missed me doing my dapper benevolent thing over at Zee & Zoey’s the other day, here I am announcing the shelter who won my portion of the Cat Ruler of the World goodies.

Sorry for the length, but business is business! Next time I will be introducing a new CATachresis feature and it will be much shorter!

Well! how exciting, the chance to win such a beautiful book but before I shout yes, I'd love one please...want to say how cute Austin looks (well, when doesn't he) coyly covering his back foot like that...am wondering tho-does that sound a bit like sucking up in order to win the prize but no!....it can't do as I see the winner is to be chosen in the fairest possible way - AT RANDOM!!
what a gorgeous little book that Sparkley one is about the Apothecary - wouldn't mind that one either!
However, before I turn this into a mini novel had better stop and just say, you've got my details I'm sure so please, please let it be me!...would so love to have Zee & Zoey's gorgeously beautiful book for my d.i.law who just loves cats but has lost 2 of her furry friends in last few years & hasn't yet felt able to have another (but now has a bunny rabbit who plays well with her doggy friend) who has been part of the family for a long time....looking forward to the next CATachresis (shorter version;>)

Austin... what has become of you as of late? I barely recognize you any more and your generosity and free-spirited kindness is making me nervous. Please, just a few standoffish words so that I know all is well!!

LOL, just kidding! You know I love you Austin and think the world of you!

Good luck to all in the giveaway!

It's one of the most beautiful books we've ever seen! Glogirly purchased a copy during the Cat Ruler contest so the xtra money would go towards the shelter. But we have someone in mind who would absolutely ADORE this book. Glogirly's godmother, who lives in Boston, is my biggest fan and she would be over the moon! So please enter us! Thank you!

Yes, pay attention to your paws ! Arthur if I only touch his back, starts to wash away the apparently awful smell of my hand !

We would like to be entered for the draw - though Mummy says, we haven't a chance, we NEVER win anything:-(

And I purr-sonally would like to say, Austin, you are quite right to keep that handsome paw of yours safe. This time, it was only your Human, but who knows who might come sneaking up on you when you're napping. Better safe than sorry.

Beautemus picture, Austin....you must be lertful, it's true. Your human might be overcome with your handsomeness and touch your unprotected rest-of-yourself....what's a cat to do?

We always have to keep our paws close or humans will mess with them when we sleep! The pic of you Austin is very cute!
Since my human is a book reader the way I am a nip guru, or nap aficionado, I would love to be entered in the giveaway =^.^=
Many purrs!

es, please, please, pullleeeze may I go in the hat for the drawing!?!??
I nearly teared up at the trailer, I can imagine how the book will get me!!!
Since I'm in the USA, I'm sure you don't have my address info, but just come see me on my blog or email me when (not if, when) I win and I shall send info presently.
Austin, did you enjoy your recent trip over to my place to view our fractals? I hope you did. Thank goodness your person does!!!

OMC! I hate hate hate hate hate for Humans to Touch My Paws--any of them. My paws are MINE--they should not be interfered with. Sometimes when I am DEEPLY into one of my many daily naps, the Human will forget herself and attempt to make contact with one of my furry feets--I awake instantly each and efurry time and give her the what-for. Sheesh! Sneak up on a guy when he's out like a light, why doncha, Human???

Oh, and I'd like to be in the drawing, too, please XOXOXO

I haven't read this yet and I think my two kitties (and pig) would love to cuddle up with me as I read!

Hi! Austin just gets more and more handsome. Congratulations on your many recent wins! I'd love to be selected to win a copy of Deb Barnes' book--- I follow her blog and very much admire the many things she does to promote all our fabulous feline friends. I'm an avid reader and am sure that I would LOVE her book.

RC Cat and Molly insisted we view photos of you presenting Austin - elegant as usual!
And the make-over is wonderful....RC is thrilled to see you enjoy reading as much as she does.

I would just love to win this book as I'm presently teaching my dog Sheigra to be more accepting of creatures that are not dogs. It's an upward struggle, but I do think this lovely book could be the breakthrough!
